SMOOTHIE: GOODBYE ANEMIA

Anemia is a common problem nowadays but instead of taking supplements let’s try to fix it with real food. Last year after half year of traveling, changing food, time zones and working hard I got anemic as well. Sometimes we don’t recognize our limits until we cross it and destroy our health. That is an important thing I learned during traveling and working as a model. Now I know exactly what my physical limit is, although of course I get very tired when I have ten castings per day or have to fly to another country. Somehow we have to handle it and survive!

However, to be able to handle all that this job includes you have to have a strong immune system and good health.  It doesn’t matter what job you are doing – what’s really important is to take care of yourself especially when you are traveling and moving all the time and you don’t have much time to cook and eat properly. Just get yourself a blender! It’s the best investment you can make and it will help you to take a good care of yourself. I was still going to the university when I bought my first blender. At that time I didn’t really know how to cook and I was eating whatever was fast and easy to prepare. So I decided to buy a blender and start making some simple smoothies, like mixing lemon and oranges. Nowadays I use blender all the time and this is the recipe for one my favorite smoothies.

Recipe:

1 small beetroot

1 apple

1 carrot

1 lemon

1 small piece of ginger

1 spoon of coconut oil

1 spoon of cinnamon

1 spoon of honey

few leaves of mint.

Combine all these ingredients in a blender, add some water and blend until you get a mixture of wanted thickness. I like to add some mint as it gives the smoothie a really refreshing subtle flavor. Drink it between meals or replace one meal with this nutritious and tasty smoothie.
